Fighter bioUrijah Faber – General Profile
Urijah Faber is an American mixed martial artist widely recognized as one of the pioneers of the lighter weight classes. Known as “The California Kid,” he became a key figure in popularizing featherweight and bantamweight MMA long before these divisions gained mainstream attention in the UFC.
MMA Career
Faber built a storied career through his championship run in the WEC and later as a top bantamweight contender in the UFC. He faced many of the division’s elite fighters and consistently remained near the top of the rankings. Beyond his own success, he played a major role in developing new talent through Team Alpha Male, one of the most respected gyms in the sport.
Fighting Style
Faber is known for his fast-paced, aggressive style built around strong wrestling, slick grappling, and explosive scrambles. His guillotine choke became one of his signature weapons, and his ability to blend striking with relentless grappling pressure made him a threat in every exchange.
