MMA Career
Fighting Style
Primarily a striker with strong pressure and technical boxing, complemented by black belts in BJJ, Hapkido, and Goju-ryu Karate. Known for controlling distance, landing crisp combinations, using leg kicks, and clutch takedowns when needed. His wrestling-driven jiu-jitsu underpins his octagon control.

Following the loss to Chimaev, Whittaker shattered several teeth under the submission pressure. He underwent dental surgery to restore his bite.
Whittaker is scheduled to fight rising star Reinier de Ridder in the main event of UFC Abu Dhabi on July 26, 2025—a bout he views as potentially his final run in the middleweight division.
He has also hinted that he might move up to light heavyweight after this fight before deciding on retirement.
