Deep (often stylized as DEEP) is a Japan-based mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion founded in 2001 by Shigeru Saeki, a longtime figure in Japanese MMA and former PR director of Pride Fighting Championships. It has become a long-running staple of the Japanese MMA scene, hosting regular events throughout Japan and helping cultivate both local and international talent. Fighters such as Ryo Chonan, Ikuhisa Minowa, and several Korean competitors, including Chan Sung Jung, competed in Deep before advancing to larger global stages.
Deep also features Deep Jewels, its all-female MMA division, which continues the legacy of women’s MMA in Japan by providing competitive opportunities under unified MMA rules. The promotion has used both traditional rings and a cage for its events and remains a respected developmental platform where fighters refine their skills and build professional resumes, contributing to the broader vibrancy of Japanese MMA.
