The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is a U.S.–based mixed martial arts (MMA) organization founded in 2017 by Donn Davis and launched in 2018 after restructuring the former World Series of Fighting. What sets PFL apart is its sports-season format: fighters compete in a regular season, then playoffs, and finally a championship at the end of the year — much like traditional team sports — with significant prize money for division winners.
In recent years PFL has expanded into a global MMA league, creating international divisions like PFL Europe, PFL MENA, and PFL Africa and broadcasting to audiences in over 150 countries on platforms including ESPN, DAZN, and other partners. The league also embraces technology and innovation, using its proprietary SmartCage data system for analytics and enhanced viewing experiences while continuing to grow its global roster of top talent.
